“We have been using Comfort Keepers for almost 3 years and are extremely happy with their service. Sarah has been my mom's regular caregiver and she has been a wonderful companion to her; competent, compassionate, and very respectful of her needs. I am very grateful and highly recommend!”

“My experience with Comfort Keepers was unfortunately just an awful experience. Based on the other reviews I may have just gotten unlucky, but thought I would share my experience for others. Because if you were like me and helping take care of a loved one with Alzheimers, the last thing you need is added stress and frustration. After our initial consultation appointment Comfort Keepers [CK] said they should have a caretaker matched within a few weeks. Wonderful, I thought. The following week they called me and say there’s a caretaker waiting at my parents place [I help my dad care for my mom who has Alzheimer’s]. I had to drop everything and rush over because I needed to be there to help introduce my mom to the caretaker. I could not believe CK did not give any heads up or advance notice about finding a caretaker or a start date! [What if we were out running errands or out of town?!]. The experience that day was awful. The caretaker they sent did not have any experience in Alz or Dementia care. At one point while my mom was crying , the woman just sat there on her phone and texted so my dad had to help console her. The woman was also not physically fit to care for someone with Alz and when my dad asked her to walk my mom across the street for exercise, she instead drove her. When I called to let comfort keepers know about the dat went, they apologized and said that was just a temporary caretaker [which again, they somehow failed to mention…], and in fact they had a regular caretaker who was experienced in Dementia care and would be able to start the following scheduled day. I decided it was worth giving it another shot. Then unfortunately on the next scheduled day, I woke up sick and didn’t want to risk anyone coming over, so I cancelled the appointment. The next scheduled date, the caretaker was feeling sick so that week was cancelled. Then the following week, the caretaker had a last minute appointment come up and cancelled again. [Then the following week was Thanksgiving so that was cancelled]. So here we are, about 6 weeks later and we [FINALLY!!] have confirmed on both sides that the following day was all set. That next day, I head over to my parents to wait for the caretaker to arrive. And I wait. And wait. And I call comfort keepers, and they say they are unable to get a hold of the caretaker. 1 hour later, she never shows up. My family had all adjusted our schedules to be available during that time [including canceling a dentist appointment] and in addition to a no-show, no one from CK even called to give me any updates that day or the following day. TLDR: Overall, terrible experience and awful communication. Over 6 weeks of trying to meet a caretaker and it never worked out. Would not recommend. Perhaps this was a one-off situation, but that would not excuse the poor communication. I’m now looking elsewhere, but in the meantime taking on those extra hours to help out my parents. Best of luck to anyone reading this in your search, and my heart goes out to you and your family.”

“My Comfort Keepers employee, Phil, has been doing an excellent job of helping me take care of my wheelchair/bed restricted wife due to her stroke and leg wounds. Being able to depend on Phil's ability to perform single person transfers as well as take care of her bed needs has relieved me of a lot of stress.”
