Who Is Mobile Guardian 2.0 Best For?
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 is a great option for a medical alert system if you don’t mind the upfront equipment costs. The system doesn’t weigh much, can be worn on the belt or around the neck, and it is water-resistant and GPS enabled. This portable medical alert system is perfect for active seniors and those at fall risk, whether they like to travel often or just want more freedom and peace of mind when running errands around town.
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 also features a battery that lasts up to five days, making it perfect for an unplugged weekend vacation or for use during emergency weather conditions that affect power. There are LED lights on the device to tell you what the battery levels look like at any time.
Who Is Mobile Guardian 2.0 Not Recommended For?
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 is not recommended for those with limited mobility or those looking for a medical alert system with a cheaper upfront cost. Because the Mobile Guardian 2.0 can be taken anywhere, the higher price tag wouldn’t serve someone unable to leave the home since there are cheaper at-home medical alert devices available.
We also do not recommend the Mobile Guardian 2.0 to those who live in areas with poor reception. The device has to connect with AT&T or Verizon cell towers to be able to call for help. If your home is in an area with poor reception, we recommend using a landline medical alert system instead.
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 is an all-in-one device, keeping you independently protected while you’re out and about. Its capabilities are reflected in its price, but we wouldn’t recommend this product for those on a tight budget. With the upfront equipment fee of $124.95 and the monthly cost of $50 (if you include fall detection), the total cost of this medical alert device is on the high end of the market, but for good reason.
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 is also a cellular medical alert system, so it needs good reception in order to connect to emergency services. If you don’t have Verizon or AT&T, don’t worry! Medical Guardian provides its services to you, but we would recommend making sure your area has coverage with one of those cell companies before purchasing. This device is also Wi-Fi friendly.
Another unique feature of the Mobile Guardian 2.0 is its convenient size and light weight. It comes with a belt clip so you don’t have to wear it around your neck, or you can carry it in a separate bag. It also comes with a separate help button that can be worn around the wrist. As long as you stay within 500 feet of the base unit, you’ll stay fully connected in case of an emergency. Just keep the mobile base unit charged twice a week, and you’ll be good to go!
The most distinct feature the Mobile Guardian 2.0 has to offer is the triple-layered location tracking. As long as you’re connected to Wi-Fi, inside an area covered by AT&T or Verizon, or in an area that can be located via GPS, you can be connected to Medical Guardian’s 24/7 monitoring center.
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 also has LEDs to tell you when the battery is getting low, as well as help buttons that can be worn on the neck or wrist up to 500 feet away from the mobile base unit. It is also shower-safe and has a two-way speaker system. If you’re unable to tap the help button in the event of an emergency, you can use the voice activation system to call the monitoring center. Automatic fall detection can be added for $10 per month to expedite getting help if you’ve fallen.
Caregiving Tools
In addition to its accurate location tracking, water resistant technology, and long battery life, the Mobile Guardian 2.0 also comes with a free caregiving app—MyGuardian. With MyGuardian, you or your loved one can keep track of billing information, chat with emergency contacts, view location history, and more.
MyGuardian features include:
Payment information
Invoices and transaction history
Ability to make payments through the app
Care Circle, which lets you set up a list of emergency contacts
Care Circle instant messaging
Medication and appointment reminders
Battery level and history
Location history and tracker
System status reports
Contracts and Warranties
You or your loved ones don’t have to sign a contract to buy the Mobile Guardian 2.0. You can start when you like and cancel service if you’re not satisfied. If you do cancel, you will still have to pay the upfront equipment fee. There is currently no option for a risk-free trial period.
Medical Guardian offers a warranty for all its devices. If the device is no longer functional, the company will replace it free of charge. It should be noted that the company will not cover regular wear and tear on your medical alert device unless you add the Protection Plan for an additional $6.99 per month.
Customer Service and Satisfaction
Medical Guardian has thousands of positive online reviews posted all over third party review sites, including Consumer Affairs. Customers seem to like the choice of wearing the necklace or carrying the device in their bags, as well as how lightweight it is and how responsive the monitoring center is when they use the help button. They also report the customer care agents and monitoring center staff are kind, quick, and ready to help.
There was one common issue we found while looking through reviews. Customers are reporting having difficulty receiving their refunds if they decide to cancel. There is also an extra restocking fee after you return the equipment that isn’t specified anywhere on the Medical Guardian website.
What Others Are Saying About Mobile Guardian 2.0
“The device worked very well for my mother. The choice of a necklace or a wrist band was very nice to have. It allowed her to stay independent much longer because if she fell help would be on the way immediately. They always called me at home to notify me that her device had been activated. Peace of mind … priceless.”
“I have fear of falling. I’ve fallen three times in a row, and each time I had to have a hip replaced. It’s been tough times. It was time for me to do something about it. So, we got Medical Guardian. Everything’s been good. I haven’t fallen, so I haven’t had to use it but it’s with me all the time. I have it around my neck. I like the feeling of reassurance that I have in case something happens. I feel there’s somebody there in case I need them.”
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 delivers quality assurance and safety. Seniors who want to live a fully independent life should consider a high-quality medical alert device that can help them safely do so. Any fall can be detrimental but having a high-quality device like the Mobile Guardian 2.0 can add an extra layer of security no matter where you are. If you choose Medical Guardian’s Mobile Guardian 2.0, you get a small, lightweight device with a five-day battery life and, should an emergency arise, a team of TMA-Five Diamond Certified agents ready to connect you to help.
The Mobile Guardian 2.0 is a quality medical alert system with a quality price. Medical Guardian’s standards meet all the basics: up-front pricing, no long-term contracts, and a simple device design. Although there is an additional cost for the feature, if you choose the Mobile Guardian 2.0, we recommend adding fall protection for an added layer of security.
If you need something more budget-friendly or prefer a landline medical alert device, we recommend choosing a different Medical Guardian package or another medical alert company.

A medical alert system acts as additional protection for seniors living independently. Its main job is to connect you or your loved ones to a 24/7 emergency response center during an emergency, such as a fall. You can ask for help verbally or by pressing the help button on the device. Specially trained agents will then immediately send emergency responders to your location.
